BICHON BOLOGNESE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, Inc

MISSION: Support the development of an internationally recognized Bolognese by striving for AKC recognition that uses the Italian standard for breed excellence.

   W elcome to all of you who support the Bichon Bolognese. The Bichon Bolognese Association, BBA, is a growing group of people who love this brilliant breed.  The Bichon Bolognese Association is a non-profit organization, with the objective to share information, to protect and advance the interest of the breed, to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Bichon Bolognese, and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

      The vision of the association founders is to breed an international Bolognese, one that can be shown in any country of the world and be recognized as an excellent example of the breed.  Since its beginning the BBA has upheld the Italian Bolognese Standard, which is maintained by the World Canine Organization, FCI.

    Because of the foresight of the BBA founders, the door is opened the for American Bolognese breeders to show their Bolognese internationally, as well as here in the United States.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Bichon Bolognese and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
2. To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the Bichon Bolognese Association of American, Inc., as the only standard of excellence by which Bichon Bolognese shall be judged until such time as the Association has received recognition from the American Kennel Club.
3. To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at:  Dog shows, Obedience trials, Agility trials.
